This means that most of the improvements in PES went to under-the-hood additions to the gameplay and the different game modes. With PES, the focus is mainly on the gameplay. The modes are interesting and well-conceived, but need some work, especially when it comes to the user interface. Gameplay PES plays similarly to The pace is great, especially when you play against the AI.
It allows for a realistic rhythm of play. However, this may not be always the case when you play online. There are different ways to increase the speed of the players and the ball and, consequently, of the game itself. This means that you can play a good ball-control game and can also change the style of play for a more long-ball game, provided that you have a great striker that can convert all these crosses in goals.
Refs have been greatly improved as well. Now, the refs finally play the advantage and are much less strict than in the beta or years passed.
PES 2015 Review
Clearly Konami are confident about tis years title and from what I have been playing, they are really onto a winner. Only Liverpool and Arsenal seem to have had that treatment in the Premier League. There are still the three main competitors, Champions League, Europa League and Asian Champions League and a host of foreign leagues so you are likely to come across plenty of officially licensed teams as you play.
On the pitch PES is something special. You can see the work that has gone into improving player animations and off the ball movement. Players are much more intelligent, attackers are always looking to move into space while defenders are much tougher to get around.
With improved multiplayer matchmaking, new online stats and a levelling system, and all multiplayer session types will allow the option of racing either the cars or the classic cars. The ‘Event mode’ has also been expanded to feature across all three platforms, along with a new competitive scoring system.
But just like football itself, it hasn’t always been a straightforward journey. Both titles have seen their share of ups and downs, and have opted for different approaches in getting where they want. Funnily enough, owing to the decisions made with each successive iteration, both FIFA and PES have ended up where the other was, ten years ago.
Back then, EA was more focused on delivering an enjoyable time, and it showed in the impossible crosses and half-line goals that were a regular part of the game. Konami’s PES 6, on the other hand, was much more realistic. Fast forward to today, and it’s FIFA that holds the crown of realism. Konami has chosen to embrace the fluidity and the beauty of one-touch football, which makes for a more stylish experience.
There are multiple improvements on that front in , be it dribbling, body movement, opposition awareness, ball physics, and keeper save animations. PES is also an important year for the franchise’s PC fans, who have felt neglected over the past few years. This time around, Konami has brought the game’s PC version in line with the console releases.

It must be difficult to produce a gaming title each year, adding new features and conjuring up ideas for possible improvements. Their annual release gets in ahead of the only other major rival for this genre, FIFA, but in previous years PES has tended to blow the early advantage. As a Liverpool fan would say, this is their year; PES has to lay down a marker, and quite frankly Konami have done so.

Pro Evolution Soccer Review A delicate, thoughtful, detailed game of football. In a way not overly dissimilar to a fighting game sequel, PES feels like an exercise in not wanting to undermine or distort the sublime balance the previous incarnation managed to achieve. Players use thighs, shoulders, stomach, chest and the entire foot — front, side and back — to control the ball, and the result is imperfect passes have a better chance of finding their target, as players have more ways to interact with passes coming towards them.

Unlike the iterative and standalone strategy devised by EA for FIFA Mobile, which chopped and changed football’s format, PES Mobile retains the full console experience, right down to the soundtrack and commentary. If you’re wondering much like us why we are only getting this now, given we’re barely four months away from the release of PES , that’s thanks to a protracted development and release schedule. From the get-go, you can tell that Konami wanted to hew as close to its console cousin in how the game looks and plays.
More importantly, it works smoothly always, without taxing your phone to the point where it starts to heat up. And since the aim is to provide the full PES experience, the mobile version comes in at a hefty 1. Match commentary isn’t included in that, which is a good thing since it’s available in half a dozen different languages. Instead, it waits for you to select your preference, and then downloads the around MB pack in-game. As with any mobile title, PES Mobile starts you off with a tutorial, teaching you the basic controls for dribble, pass, shoot, and pressure.
Konami has come up with a new control scheme to suit the mobile play-style, which involves swiping on the screen in different ways. You can switch to the classic on-screen buttons if you prefer, but we found ourselves warming to the new controls quickly. Once you get the hang of the basic controls, the game lets you pick your favourite team, with the same number of licenses as the console version.

Tweet on Twitter The game is simply based on getting you involved through a journey of collecting your perfect line up. They have done a great job on adding several players to the game apart from the real game which they have lost most of the sponsorships to FIFA, but this one they have decided to do some sort of a comeback. The fun does not end at the cards collecting system, it is also giving you the opportunity to enter a challenge against other players in an online matchmaking, so we do not have to mention that you are supposed to have an internet connection active to enjoy the most features of the game.
PES has its work cut out if it’s to beat FIFA this year – but if anyone can do it, Konami can. Despite critical acclaim, PES couldn’t keep up with FIFA 17’s sales.
Those many refinements that have seen it nudge some way ahead of FIFA on the pitch over the past couple of seasons are still mostly evident. There are more improvements this year: Tighter, more responsive dribbling mechanics let the best players weave their magic, and you only need focus on the left stick to pull off jinks and feints. The ability to shield the ball from markers is extremely welcome, with forwards and midfielders more capable of sticking their backsides out to hold off defenders when receiving the ball with their back to goal, giving them room to lay it off and spin away, ready for a return pass.
Other changes produce tangibly positive results, but many of them come with unfortunate knock-on effects. There’s been a shift towards emphasising the strengths of individual players this year, and it goes well beyond the obvious superstars. So when Aleks Kolarov, for example, hits the ball, it travels like a missile. In the main, this is a good thing: It makes the game more immediately readable against unfamiliar opponents, too:
